Do you think it is ok to put your purse on the ground?

I have seen many times people putting their purses on the floor. But is this gross? I was in the mall and a woman was getting her eyebrows done and while they were doing it she just put her purse on the floor in the mall. I think this is first of all gross because the floor is very dirty, and someone can steal your bag if you just leave it there, especailly if you have your eyes closed while they are doing your eyebrows.
